Future Plans

American Idol is on right now and it makes me think that some day... maybe... some day Vivian will be singing in front of millions of people watching YouTube fans screaming her name. Hopefully I'll be raking in the benefits of her fame: Reality show star, NASCAR driver, Square dance caller... It's a shame that I'll have to be making so many TV and radio appearances because I don't know where I'll be able to fit it in my busy schedule. I'll have to hire a stunt double.

To get her started, we've been teaching her some songs and trying to get her to really show emotion and make her singing her own. We're trying to teach her how to (insert cliche here) and (generic comment about singing). You know, all the stuff that they're getting taught on TV. Here's some pictures of her practicing:

"To everything turn, turn turn... If there is a season turn, turn, turn..."

"Splish splash I was taking a bath all about a Saturday Night!"

"To be with you girl... it's like being low! Hey hey hey like being stoned!"

"Blinded by the light... wrapped up like a deuce another runner in the night."

"(Bah bah dada buh bah badadadada buh bah da buh bah) Push it!"

"AND IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!"

Valentines Day

Today is Valentines Day or V-Day as known in our house Chumps! We totally had to work insanely long hours and then we came home and crashed hardcore. We reminisced about yonder V-Days where we had more freedom and we were driven by our insane desire for each other's... well... you know. If you don't, ask your mom. Our first V-Day we were in Florence SC and we went to a local oyster bar for steamed oysters. Then we drove around in a town we were unfamiliar with and found a local ice cream joint to sweeten the night just right.

Four years ago I put together a huge package of drinks, candy, chocolates and gifts and left a trail through the house. She promptly gave half of the candy to her friends at work and told me that she'd never eat that much candy in a "million years." I told her that she wasn't going to live that long. So I've learned my lesson and I haven't given her a smorgasbord of food since... at least not on V-Day.

Two years ago we went to Leavenworth, WA when April surprised me and whisked me away for the weekend. That was pretty dang fun. We'd never been to the ole German haven up in the mountains of Central Washington and we had a great time. So much so in fact that we decided to go again next year. Well, actually I surprised her and we went for our yearly "Rain Break" which is much needed when you live in these parts Pardner. Let me tell you that if you want to go somewhere fun up in the mountains, relax to the max, eat great food, drink great beer and just exist peacefully Leavenworth in the Spring is the place to go.

So now's when you the reader get to comment on some of your V-Day experiences. Leave a comment about your favorite V-Day experience. We're going to see if we can break our record of 4 comments in which I was two of them. DO IT DOUG!!!
