One Year Old

So the kid turned one year old a couple weeks ago and we've been literally hungover and recovering busier than you were since that day. We had an amazingly successful party for everyone involved except Vivian. She didn't have the bestest day ever but she was a trooper and it ended up being fun for everyone that didn't have to clean up. Here's the official tally: 4 noise making toys, 2 educational toys, 12 clothing items, 2 stuffed animals, a walker, a horse and a car. Unfortunately, the walker, horse and car are all toddler size so I wasn't as excited as I could've been.

We took video of the supposed "fun" part when she got to tear into the cake but she didn't tear into the cake, smile or anything else that would be considered "fun" so there's no pictures of that. We'll try to see if there are people who have some of those wonderful moments and we'll post them later. All in all the party was a lot of "fun" and we're sure that Birthday Part 2: The Search for More Money will be a much more successful venture. Anyway, here are some of the great moments from the party:

Look at how excited everyone is at the party! Thrillsville 2011!

Cousin Connor was showing her how to serve tea. We're kinda worried about him...

April hated these until she heard I bought them and then they were "OK."

This was one of two times she smiled that day. It was a bad day for smiles.

Here's a view of the cake that didn't get smashed, smushed or eaten.

One hour after everyone leaves and we're making motor sounds, playing with toys! C'MON KID!

  1. Some days us girls just aren't ready to party - we get in a mood. But, it looks like Vi recovered. Can't believe it's been a year all ready!
